The real cause is oxide scale left on the blank.
During forging and heat treatment, a layer of oxide scale forms on the surface of stainless steel blanks.
If this layer is not fully removed before crimping, it stays on the surface.
Crimping puts strong pressure on the fitting. The metal underneath stretches and changes shape.
But the oxide scale is brittle—it cannot stretch with the base metal. So it cracks, breaks, and peels off.
That’s the “peeling” you see.

Strict incoming inspection
Blanks with heavy scale are rejected before they enter production.
Thorough surface cleaning
We use shot blasting and pickling to remove all oxide scale. The base metal is fully exposed.
Proper crimping control
We use precise crimping parameters. No over-crimping. This protects the surface and keeps the fitting strong.
